I live in South Florida so, it's next to impossible with our humidity to find any portable A/C type unit (under $400) that can have any impact whatsoever. I've definitely wasted quite a bit of money over the years in desperation when I have to go out on the porch, or the home A/C has needed a repair.
This little guy is different from all the others I've had for its cute features and functional features. You can use the 7 different LED light options to set the mood in any darker room or at night. Its slimmer design allows it to go on a nightstand, coffee table, or wherever you have a power outlet and not be too obvious.
It has a 2 mode timer, which is great for me because I would leave it on all the time by accident.
The best part is it has 3 speeds, and a mister, which actually makes more of a difference than I thought. It's a little on the pricey side, but I'm sweating bullets, it makes it worth what I paid.
With all the hit and miss reviews I figured I had a 50/50 chance of this working or just being a dud. Mine turned out to work just fine. I used refrigerated water (no ice) so it was cold and it does blow cold air. Like many reviewers have stated you aren’t going to cool down a room with this. It’s meant to cool a person down that is sitting pretty close to it. I did help it cool down our room a little more by setting it on the corner of a dresser behind a larger fan that was able to push the cool air out further. Overall, it did work for me, but again this looks like it’s a hit or miss product so be prepared to return if the one you receive doesn’t work well or at all.
I bought this product because San Diego has been hot this summer. The description sounded great, so I figured I give it a try. During the extreme heat, I didn't feel any big help. I ended up just turning it off. I noticed the ice melts quickly and then it blows warm/cool air.
However, on a normal warm day and towards the evening when the sun is down, it worked really good. It was cool and refreshing, so It did the trick and I turned it off.
Smaller than I thought but powerful. I bought two for one room and to move it as I moved and its working. You have to keep adding water if you turn on the cool setting but its not a big deal. Small space, personal, sleek.
The water hatch is right next to the plug in cord. So far its working well as a fan but that makes me uneasy... I feel like it's any small spill can cause an electrical malfunction because of the proximity. You do need to break the ice for it to fit through the opening or get tiny ice cubes.
I just bought this because here in AZ my room receives the most sun during the summer and I bought it with already multiple fans in my room. And this seems to run out of water faster than the time it says it should last and doesn’t really cool my room down. Anyone have tips on how to use it?
