Firstly everything from a functional and aesthetic point of view is fantastic with this floodlight, I can’t fault it. But what let’s this down is on the mounting hardware which is a serious safety concern from my perspective. I drilled 2 holes into masonry using a 6mm drill bit as per the instructions and mounted the camera using the providing screws and plugs and to my horror when I put it altogether, the camera was so top heavy that the whole unit disengaged from the wall. Thankfully I was holding onto it otherwise the whole unit could have fallen 4m onto concrete. The plugs and screws are too short and the plugs are of poor quality. When I put in good quality green plugs from Bunnings and used longer galvanised screws in the same holes (no I didn’t use a drill bit too big initially!) it was firmly mounted on the wall. Also they provide a hook which is a way to hold the camera whilst mounting to prevent the camera falling and only being supported by wires. God only knows how this hook is actually supposed to hook into the junction box as the junction box has no holes! It is completely useless and attempting to use it could once again cause significant dramas i.e. the whole unit will fall.
Eufy cheaped out on mounting hardware when it is probably the cheapest part of the BOM. If the work was carried out by someone less experienced there were 2 great opportunities for things to go horribly wrong which could have very easily been avoided.
Works as expected but can’t turn the sensitivity down enough to prevent car head lights activating it. It senses the lights when the car drives past at night. the lights are not pointed straight at the camera but just picking up the light from the side of the car. I have used the Activity Zones to try and help but the light from the cars lights up areas outside these zones. Also, I find there is a large black spot between the two flood lights. I have it set to lights approx. 45deg to the left and to the right of the camera which leaves a big unlit black area in the middle. My previous sensor flood lights overlapped so covered a full 180 deg. These lights are more like spot lights other than flood lights. Other than these issues, everything else works okay. Oh yes, and the same geofencing problems with two phones still exists.
