5.0 out of 5 starsIt's the real deal.
Reviewed in Australia on 16 June 2020
I was slightly skeptical at first. I only purchased the SanDisk 400 GB Extreme card after seeing the positive reviews here, along with knowing that Amazon would also be fulfilling the order.

However, I still wanted to be sure that the SD card was legitimate before using it to film 4K H.265 footage.

I tested the SD card using H2testw (v1.4). I used the SD card slot of a Surface Book 2 with a BaseQi SD card adapter. The test results were inline with real world expectations (the computer was also being used for other projects whilst the test was in progress).

I also compared the SanDisk 400 GB Extreme to a SanDisk 64 GB Extreme and SanDisk 128 GB Extreme Pro I had purchased from a reputable local retailer. The fonts and logo all appear to match perfectly and the physical layout of the pins and memory chip match exactly, and the text and serial number layout on the back also match.

The warranty details listed inside the packaging were also for my region and contained correct contact information.

It's fair to say that these cards are genuine and you should be confident in your purchase.

Below are the H2testw results:
Warning: Only 375558 of 375560 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 78.7 MByte/s
Reading speed: 84.7 MByte/s

When it worked, lightning transfer speed occurred.. but it wasn't meant to last. It started playing up on my Desktop PC last night and my Laptop this morning. The behavior is connect-disconnect-connect-disconnect to infinity and beyond at super speed. I took the video at rick of destroying my SD Card. Please send me a replacement. Thanks!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good. Speeds good. How to use is not very clear but I figured it out.
Reviewed in Australia on 9 January 2022

So I think the product could be cheaper, maybe it does get cheaper during sales periods but the amount I paid felt a bit high for what it is.
I heard these official Sandisk readers are the only ones which have a special chip to get better speeds out of your microSD cards. Speeds are good (if you are experiencing speed issues it is most likely your microSD card speed limit not the reader) and has been reliable.
It is very small so for those who want to carry it around with them in a bag I imagine it could be easy to lose, my advice would be to keep it in a "glad wrap bag" so it is easier to find and keep track of.

How to use:
Installation was simple it is plug and play no driver needed. But after the initial plug in, if you plug this in, then insert a microSD card after the computer seems to not recognize the card. So I made a habit of inserting the microSD card into the reader first, then plugging it in the computer's USB port. With this method it recognizes and works every time.
Made by Sandisk so I feel like I can rely on this reader.
4/5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Varying writing speed!
Reviewed in Australia on 6 October 2019
Capacity: 64GBStyle: ExtremeVerified Purchase
Arrived in time as stated.
Micro-SD cards are working.
But it said 30Mb/s writing speed.
I trasferd 4Gb of data to one of the sd cards, using the laptop's sd card slot. I checked the speed during file transfer. It reached about 27Mb/s at a few instances. Most of the time it was writing at speed of about 200Kb/s. So the writing speed was changing from about 50Kb/s to 27Mb/s.
I am not sure whether this speed change due to the nature of the file.

4.0 out of 5 stars Authentic Sandisk product
Reviewed in Australia on 27 February 2020
Capacity: 64GBStyle: Extreme ProVerified Purchase
For anyone wondering this is an authentic Sandisk product at a better than retail price and the delivery for me arrived early which is awesome. The issue I have with this product is that there is seemingly only a difference of 10MB/s read speed between the Sandisk extreme PRO 64gb A2 micro sd card and the Sandisk extreme (not pro) 128gb A2 micro sd card. For roughly $10-15 more you can get the Sandisk extreme 128gb A2 card which holds double the storage while reading at only 10MB/s less. Speaking strictly about micro sd cards I'm not sure why, other than a crude marketing attempt, Sandisk would sell almost identical cards with slightly different names but charge far more per gb for the extreme pro card. Looking back if I knew what I know now I would have simply bought the extreme 128gb A2 instead of the extreme pro 64gb A2

4.0 out of 5 stars Beware the release date and model number.

Sandisk uses the same series naming on its products in different generations. Therefore, you have to beware buying an older products at lower R/W speeds or stability, by checking up the model numbers. I bought this for my previous Insta360 One R without checking on Insta360 web site for tested cards because I naively believed that Extreme PRO meant the best in Sandisk. In fact, I bought an older model of Extreme PRO which my One R stopped recording as it was too slow. (Insta360 cameras are bad because my current Panasonic GH5 can use every slower SD cards for recording 4k60fps videos).

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a big as memory card
Reviewed in Australia on 1 July 2019
Capacity: 256GBStyle: ExtremeVerified Purchase
There's really not a lot to say about a memory card. It's big (and tiny), it works, it's pretty fast, but it had better be for that price. The packaging is terrible, expect to curse at the blister pack with frustrating "open here" instructions where it's clearly been hermetically sealed. But once you've got it out and in your device, it's pretty much something you can forget about. Good, not great - perhaps great it if still works in 5 years, which I hope it will.

4.0 out of 5 stars Genuine but Read Speed Lower than Spec
Reviewed in Australia on 1 June 2021

I got the Sandisk Extreme Pro 256gb with a rated spec of 170mb/s read and 90mb/s write. Seems genuine but some reviewers have been hit so make sure you check carefully.
The write speed is accurate but the read is almost half of the rated spec (see photo). Apparently you need a special Sandisk card reader to read that max read speed. I checked a bunch of my other cards and I found two which are practically the same in terms of actual performance to the Sandisk Extreme Pro; Sandisk Extreme 160mb/s read and the Samsung Evo Plus 100mb/s read 95mb/s write. Look for value elsewhere

4.0 out of 5 stars Write speed is 42MB/s instead of 60MB/s
Reviewed in Australia on 2 October 2020

I bought both Sandisk Extreme 64GB (160MB/s read, 60MB/s write) and Sandisk High Endurance (100MB/s read, 40MB/s write) almost for the same price. I was expecting to see better performance for Extreme but reality is different. I just copied about 5GB file and trying to see the copy speed. For Extreme it was about 42MB/s write but for High Endurance it was about 60MB/s. Read speed is for both about 85MB/s. If I buy again I'll prefer High Endurance than Extreme.

I use this with my Nintendo Switch Lite. The Aus$345 is a bargain compared to some of the prices I've seen from the few local outlets that sell the same kind of thing. Oh, and this is certainly not a bog standard cheapo memory card either. This is a quality product.
