Product died the second time I plugged it into my laptop to add more music. Totally dead, it would not turn on again. It's possible the one I got is just a "lemon", but I wouldn't take a chance on buying one again.... and I wouldn't recommend it to other users. Buy something else. If it wasn't for the cheap price tag, I'd be more upset than I am. I'm in the habit of keeping two portable music players around at all times. I bought a slightly more expensive one also listed here on Amazon (only around 40 or 50 US dollars). So I'm not completely out of a music player. But now I have to go buy a second player. And you can bet it's not going to be this one.
Seems to work well but won't let me register because it says Amazon UK when I bought it in the USA. I got an email saying thank you for registering your mp3 player. So I have changed my rating to 5 stars. Since then I've bought two more for my son's friends. I've bought a total of four they work well could be a little louder but I'm hard of hearing. It could be just me. well now it keeps erasing my sons sd card when put into computer it says have to format to use it. after formatting it worked for two days same thing again not recognizable. changed to one star trying a different sd card and if it does it again i,m sending back for a refund.
Pros: The device is small, almost to small for someone with large fingers or thumbs to operate. It connected easily to my PC (Windows 10) and I was able to drag/drop files to it. If you wanted, you could use it as a thumb drive or backup device. I like that it is also a recorder. The sound quality is decent. It displays the bit rate of the song and I notice tunes with a higher bit rate sound better than tunes with a lower rate, so the unit can at least work with what it gets.
CONS: The manual I got does not accurately represent some menu features/functions. The biggest issue I have with the unit has to do with the shuffle feature. I loaded 400 hundreds songs and started listening for a few hours in shuffle mode. I did this for a couple of days and I did not get anywhere near all the way through the 400 songs either day. After only about 3 times of listening to only some of the songs, it occurred to me that it had started to repeat only the songs that it had played. This means that eventually it would get down to only playing one song over and over. After messing about in the menu, I found that it was counting how many times it played a song, probably trying to assign favorites. Since all of the songs I put on the unit are favorites of mine, I did not want it to be doing that, but I cannot see a way to stop it. The counting feature is not explained in the manual.
I bought this for vacation and was happy with it when I received it. I loaded my music without issue. The interface is very user friendly and I like the controls (I prefer real buttons over touchscreen). I never ended up using it while we were on vacation and when we returned a few weeks later and I tried to use it, it wouldn't turn on. I charged it overnight - twice - just to make sure it wasn't the battery. I contacted Amazon CS because I had not registered the product prior to leaving on our trip and wasn't sure how to proceed. I was past the Amazon return window but an awesome CSR sent me a replacement as a courtesy free of charge. I'm currently in the process of transferring music to the new unit. I don't have high hopes for it but we'll see how it goes. I did register for the 3 year extended warranty so we'll see. Part 2 of the registration process takes you to this page to submit a review. Normally I run away from those kinds of schemes but I figured I could at least provide info to other potential buyers to assist them with making an informed decision. If yours works, you'll probably like it. Good luck.
At first I was impressed with the design and the fact that it was small and light weight. But as I experimented with it, I found a flaw (maybe in THIS one?) that I DO NOT like. While attached in bluetooth mode, the volume will NOT remain constant at the setting you select. When I turned the volume down, using the "down" arrow, it will lower, however, I can set the device down on and not touch it and the volume will come back up to an unacceptable level without the volume button being triggered. Interestingly enough, if I pick it up and physically shake it, the volume will do the same thing. This doesn't happen with the volume being raised to its loudest level. It will remain loud, regardless if I set the device down or shake it.
This ONLY happens when the device is on Bluetooth setting. If you utilize it with a pair of earbuds that plug in, this will NOT occur. I tried it with a pair of ear buds (wireless bluetooth), as well as a set of bluetooth headphones (ear muff-style) and the problem re-occurs. BIG problem for me. I don't want a device that selects what volume level I should listen to. And the real problem is that it lifts the volume to almost its highest setting, so if I set it down after selecting the lowest volume that I can hear, the volume turns up too loud for me to handle.
As for the functionality, the instructions are simple and the buttons (when used with a wired pair of ear buds) work properly and efficiently. I like the sound quality, the ease of song selection and the fact that it has a "hold" button on the side. It clips easily to clothing, but because of its size, could break off the clip if bumped hard. I use it in a breast pocket and that seems to work fine.
Again, the deal breaker is the volume control issue with bluetooth connected. Overall, NOT worth the money spent. I will send it back.
Bad product. It is cheap so I had low expectation but you can’t use it when you move because it drops connection all the time. Useless for running, gym, etc. it also pauses, or skips songs randomly when you are moving. That irritates me! I didn’t find the Bluetooth specification, but has to 4 or less. I don’t like the menu, not very user friendly, and it doesn’t turn on the Bluetooth automatically, so you have to go through a ladder of steps when you turn it on, only turn the Bluetooth on, and that’s before you go again through a ladder of steps to find your song, not fun! Battery doesn’t last, after charging +-3 hours, lost power in less than an hour! Only thing I like about it, this thing is very light.
these would not ever pair with a pair of bluetooth earphones I had already that are 4.0. it's cheaply made and come with a pair of cheap earbuds. sound is below normal quality. I hated it and returned it.
