I have always had good luck with Toshiba HDDs. When I started running out of room in my laptop HDD, I looked for a medium performance low power drive. The only strange part of the install was that I had to switch positions of the SSD and HDD in the laptop. The power supply did not like the original position and the computer would not boot. Switched them and no problems since then.
I was running a well known brand 500 GB SSD on my dated, but trusty Panasonic Toughbook and needed to expand my disk drive space requirements. I'm running Linuxmint and it booted up and shutdown tremendously fast with my previous SSD. I'd considered purchasing a 1 or 2TB SSD but wasn't particularly enthused about laying out anywhere from $125 to $200 plus to get one or the other. I decided on this 2TB HDD and it's performance is just as good as my previous 500 GB SSD after cloning it to the new drive. And since I'm using a Toughbook, I'm not particularly concerned about ruining the HDD in the event I accidentally drop the laptop. Knock on wood, I hope to get some trouble-free longevity out of my new purchase which I'm very happy about.
