This product was my first experience with Apple HomeKit - very disappointing. The device was incompatible with my wifi, I tried adjusting a bunch of settings on my router (as suggested on the Nanoleaf forums) but to no avail. Thankfully I had another wifi device on hand - still, not ideal - I would expect better for a high-price modern device like this.
The quality of the parts is good. I love how the panels snap together and allow for creative placement.
There are far less customisable animation options than I was expecting - I am left unsatisfied with trying to pull off a convincing Aurora, nor a dilithium warp core. I was also hoping that the interactive panels would offer more opportunities for play (ie. games) or function (ie. triggering a smart home device when a particular panel is pressed).
Overall disappointed, I expected more, but still happy with having some reasonably high quality ambient lighting.
