I'm a great Joni Mitchell fan, would love somehow just to say 'thank you' for all the years of listening pleasure - but slightly unsure of this one. I will get to like it better I expect, but I'm not entirely fond of the somewhat fawning radio interviews and Joni's own rather rambling intros to her songs. Quality variable as expected, as this is a collection of home recordings, demos, live recordings without great equipment - all that adds to the experience so no problem there, but not necessarily the brilliant collection I had hoped for. Still, Joni can do little wrong for me.
This is very much for the big Joni fan! The quality throughout is very early cassette tape with a great deal of hiss and you need to consider this before paying this amount of money for this interesting trip into this brilliant artists very early period! It is typical bootleg quality that you need to be accustomed. However, it really is a worthy insight into her primitive years and the gifts this outstanding talent presented her fans and fellow artists over the past 50 years.
I'm a big fan and have traveled with Joni's music for decades. Couldn't resist going backwards in time to gain access to the "early days". The budding genius had not fully flowered and I find myself listening more out of respect than listening pleasure. For that, I return to her more fully developed talent.
