This reader purchased this book mainly for Chef AJ's recipes.
However reading through the pre-recipe part of the book, Merzer exposes his intolerance and prejudice towards doctors, Jews and Gentiles who may not align with his viewpoints.
This starts early on in the book but we see it rearing its head in Chapter 6 where Merzer attempts to parallel certain unproven theories with scientific evidence of plant based nutrition. He fails miserably and alienates anyone who doesnt agree with his views.
Basically Merzer makes the assumption that those who disagree with him are reduced down to moronic simpletons. If you don't agree or aren't aligned with Merzer's stance, then you can't understand the plant based diet.
Merzer puts anyone who is not on his high moral plane of thinking and opinions in a little tiny box with no exceptions.
Merzer doesnt understand people following a Plant Based diet can run the gamut with differing ideas and opinions, or at least should be allowed to.
Either agree with him or you are an idiot. Merzer shouldnt have alienated people that have nothing to do with the book's topic - health.
