To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Here's one to wake up a sleepy reader. Linda Lappin has written a tri-story novel (In an interview with France Book Tours the author describes it as structured like a tryptic.)that is magic, tragic, funny, and challenges the norms of most of society. Its depictions of the characters of Modigliani's 'wife' Jeanne Heburterne and Modigliani made for a loud and surprising discussion at our book club yesterday. It seems most of us still base our thinking on moral values. This book makes us also look at life from the standpoint of those whose values revolve around the creation and preservation of art, a sometimes perilous obsession. It's quotable in places and I read it twice. I loved the elements of mystery. I won't forget this one, and value this book that entertained and still made me think.
