Is this yet another author getting the benefit of a relaunch with a different publisher? The whole feel of this book suggests it was written years ago. There were twists and turns aplenty, but the delivery was painfully slow and despite a new cover and lashings of hype on the product page it failed to match books in a similar genre that have actually been written in the past year. Why don't publishers give young talent a chance rather than squeezing the last drop out of writers who have already enjoyed their time in the sun?
Just finished this book and enjoyed it immensely, the plot has lots of twists and turns. The characters are interesting and the chemistry between Macy and Jo give the story an added dimension. I’m looking forward to getting started on the second and third book in the series. If you like murder mysteries I would recommend this wholeheartedly.
The book took a while to get on keel for me, but the character development was excellent. I got a good idea of the base she is building for a series of books and I think it is a solid, intriguing one. It would make a good TV series. Amazon should take a look at it.
This book was very British. It was also slow moving. But the main characters were fun to read about. I especial enjoyed the detective , Macy. He was not the smooth, handsome man who looks like a movie star. It was fun to read.
