I am now on Book 4 of the Bonnie & Clyde series by Ms Julie Anne Lindsay, and never want the series to end!! Which it will with Book #8. The banter and repartee between the heroine, Bonnie and hero, Sheriff Wright is so quick and perfect, I was impressed that the author could create it. I found less of it in Book 3, but it may be because the relationship is deepening.
What I most appreciate with these books is how the author has created flawed and at times troubled characters who become real. I feel like I know them, and go through the same emotions as they do as the H/h develop a relationship. While there isn’t explicit sex in the books (I don’t think!), there is comforting touch and kissing and a psychological explanation why it hasn’t gone further in Book 4. Again, it goes to the heroine’s past which makes her real.
The small town is quirky, as are the peripheral characters. You have family, best friends, community, small business owners, humor and love, and a cat! The mysteries are interesting and Bonnie insinuates herself into them much to the consternation of Sheriff Wright.
Book 5 is due out in May 2022 and I already pre-ordered it. This has become my favorite cozy mystery series and I will be sad when it’s over. Enjoy!
We're back in Bliss just in time for Thanksgiving and Clyde's klepto tendencies have gotten Bonnie in trouble in more ways than one. When the town, and handsome Sheriff Wright, witness Bonnie and Joe Fryer in a heated argument after Joe accuses Bonnie of being a bad cat mom for not nipping Clyde's stealing in the bud and the next day, Joe is found dead, Bonnie is suspect number one... no matter how much the sheriff doesn't like it.
I LOVE this series!!! We're in book three and Julie Anne Lindsey still keeps it fresh and fun. Bonnie and Mason's relationship is progressing nicely after some heart to heart moments and the author is really good at giving Bonnie realistic reactions to all the life or death circumstances she finds herself in in this series. There's nothing I dislike more when reading a cozy series and the amateur sleuther is completely fine after getting attacked, or abducted, and almost killed. Any living person would have PTS and Julie Anne Lindsey doesn't forget this aspect and makes her characters seem more real.
*Disclaimer: I was giving an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Bonnie is now divorced and moved back to Bliss Georgia. She has opened a clothing type store of gently used clothing and and household items. Her folks live nearby and so does her Gram, Gigi. Bonnie’s cat Clyde has a tendency to snatch colorful things that are not his and hides them in Bonnie’s shop. Another shop owner, The Truck Stop is Clyde’s place to snatch items from an outdoor display and the proprietor has gotten huffy over it. Anyway, Bonnie cleans her shop thourougly and finds most of the items and stops by his house to return them, he does not answer the door so she leaves them hanging on the storm door handle, and goes home. Welllll….the next day she and her Gram learn he was found murdered. Yep, Mason the sheriff starts an investigation. Then it gets really good😊😊 don’t miss out😊😊
Beating the Wrap brings us back to Bliss, GA and “Bless her Heart” as shopkeeper Bonnie finds herself smack dab in the middle of a murder once again. Her kitty, Clyde, stirs up trouble when he steals figures from another shop owner – and then the shop owner ends up dead. Author Julie Anne Lindsey doesn’t disappoint with this 3rd book in the Bonnie and Clyde Mysteries. You’ll laugh out loud, gasp with surprise, and work hard to figure out the mystery. Lindsey cleverly continues to build the larger story line of the series while writing a fun story filled with plot twists that can stand alone as well. I can’t wait to return to Bliss with book four – Eyelet Witness!
Another spectacular addition to the Bonnie & Clyde Mysteries series! After a public confrontation with Bonnie, a man is murdered leaving it to Bonnie and her cat Clyde to once again “help” local Sheriff Mason solve the murder before it’s too late!
I said it before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE THIS SERIES! It’s so good!! Five stars all around 🥰 I’m loving the added romance factor that ups the ante as the local amateur sleuth attempts to solve the murder before the Sheriff. Can’t wait for December 15, 2021 when the next installment, Eyelet Witness, comes out!
Please Note: I received an ARC copy for my honest opinion.
Book three in this fun new series. I thought this book was a little stronger in character development than mystery but that's ok with me. Love the characters, town, shops etc in this book so if the mystery is a little in the background that's fine but you know somehow Bonnie and Clyde are going to be involved, Mason, Mom, Dad and Gigi are going to worry and somehow inspite getting in a little too deep, Bonnie will come out the other side!
This book is as great as the first two. Hard not to like everybody in Bliss. Hard not to hope for the best between Bonnie and Mason. Hard not to know Clyde watches out more than Bonnie realizes. Love Cami, Dale, Lexi, Gigi, Bud, Blossom, just everyone! I’m already sad to think there will only be eight books. Keep them coming Julie!
This one is my favorite so far! Clyde is such a little stinker & it is adorable. You really get to know some of the characters more in this book and I really enjoyed that. I love the deep conversations that Bonnie had to have with Mason, it showed a different side of him. So excited to read more in this series. Great book from a great author.
The writer has written several books but they all have the same plot and go down the same rabbit hole. This #3 of this series was better than the 1st two. Somewhat unrealistic in the relationship category but a decent read.
I enjoyed reading this third book. The mystery was good; I actually got the murderer right this time. The ending was exciting, and Bonnie and the sheriff’s relationship is getting better. A recommended read!
