To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Many have been using this experimentally with a lot of fun reviews all over Youtube. I'm really impressed by the ease of installation and use. Well thought out. Though reach is very limited to 15-30m, impeded by walls or obstacles, any passing iPhone will relay its location to you if you've tagged the item as lost. You may also request to be notified by providing your email or mobile number. Though the tag cannot be tracked moving. You will see snapshots of where it's been whenever an iPhone is nearby that has Find My Location enabled.
For stealth installation, be good if apple produce some in black.
Have found that the airtag sound waves are relatively unimpeded by hard plastic or leather (even in thin leather travel pouch) but I have found that silicon holders (which I prefer for bike tagging) for some reason significantly absorbs the sound. I had originally placed the airtag in the silicone sleeve with the shiny metal/icon facing outwards, but have found that if I reverse that... that is, if I place the white plastic part facing outward, then the sound equals that in other jackets. Easy fix, just not as pretty. However, for stealth...and camouflage, apple please make some Black ones.
Tracking is so easy and very accurate with iPhone 11 and above. Tested using IOS15
Absolutely won't work with anything but their flagship phones with U1 chip, and because of a WaPo article they decided to neuter their product out of fear of abuse. I bought four to track pets and they are rubbish. When it even gets the right block of land I am on it gives me no idea if I'm facing it or not, the sound it emits is so weak if you put it in any protective case, even leaving the body exposed, you will not hear it unless you're 6 feet away. $160 of wasted money for me and a still missing pet. A Tile would have done the job better and given me a way to know where my cat is. If Apple don't release a drastic overhaul of it's firmware to unneuter it I'll be returning it.
Not fit for purpose, as far as I am concerned this is a scam product leveraging the Apple name. The U1 is a cheap chip that should be included in everything, and sold as a firewire peripheral we using SE's (bought because Apple swore that it will be a fire and forget phone that won't need updating for at least five plus years - thus was heavily recommended as 'has everything but won't cost you more than a car') - if they had a plugin scanner for it I'd buy that, but for now I'm going to have to just try and read the EMF it releases and reverse engineer it with a man in the middle to try and make an emulator to read these silly things.
Ive been using these as a way to track equipment, its amaizing how easy they are to setup and how the technonolgy works., Tracking equipment geting shipped to clients puts my mind at ease knowing i can see them as they leave our wharehouse and track them as they travel to their final destination.
