Local nurse, Kate Palmer and beau, Woody Forrest, had been enjoying a day together at the wedding of one of his friends when it ends in tragedy. Kate knows she has to discover who was responsible as quickly as possible especially as the new detective in charge seems to be enjoying Woody's company a little too much! When a vital clue is discovered, Kate may well be the one to solve the case but only at the expense of everything she holds dear.
This is the fourth book featuring Kate Palmer and is an excellent addition to this entertaining series. There is a new detective to deal with, Kate's sister, Angie, is now a successful business owner and both things add an extra edge to Kate's storyline. As always the writing is descriptive and atmospheric which, combined with a cast of familiar as well as new characters, make this a very entertaining read.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to a very good British cosy crime series.
The latest book from the Tinworthy Cozy Mystery series and Nurse Kate Palmer.
Woody is helping another Detective Inspector, Charlotte, settle into his old role, and Kate gets a little jealous.
Between them, they get caught up in another murder case, one of the village residents, a well liked plumber, drops dead at the altar as he's about to marry one of girls who lives in the village. When it become apparent that several weddings had been called off over poison pen letters sent to the grooms, Kate, Woody and Charlotte have their hands full.
Its Christmas and Kate is hoping that all goes smoothly, especially with her Sister and her partner Fergal.
A really enjoyable cozy mystery series which are best read in order to preserve continuity of the characters.
Well worth a read, I can't wait til the next book is released.
This is a delightful story which is so interesting and beautifully written and for once I had no idea who the murderer was. I can really recommend this superb and interesting series of cosy mystery stories and look forward to book 5.
