The device did not work out of the box. Initially, it would not connect to my router at all. After trying another comms cable (than the one that came with the unit), it connected, but the config software didn't install. I tried getting help from the WD Help Desk website (who did not respond for days). They eventually advised me to buy ANOTHER cable and try that. After a week of trying to get it to connect, I gave up and sent the unit back to Amazon for a refund. Very poor support experience.
